Eau Claire, WI — July 13, 2026 — Automation Displays, Inc. (ADi), a leading manufacturer of engineered control panel solutions, announces the launch of the zIOn System a compact, high-density remote I/O system designed to solve the industry’s most persistent challenges in life safety, automation, and mission-critical environments.

The zIOn Controller is engineered to support life safety applications requiring strict compliance and dependable performance. The platform delivers unmatched density while supporting up to 5,120 I/O points, 64 expansion cards, and extensive protocol compatibility, all in a space-saving form factor that simplifies installation and reduces wiring.
"zIOn builds on the rock-solid reliability customers have trusted in the Z-card for decades and adds the scalability, protocol flexibility, and installation simplicity modern projects demand,” said Beth Ludy, Sales Manager, Automation Displays, Inc.
Solving Today’s I/O Challenges
Modern facilities face growing demands around space, wiring complexity, integration, scalability, and environmental durability. The zIOn addresses these issues head-on by offering:
Highest I/O density in a compact design
Fast, simplified installation
Reduced wiring and configuration time
Industrial-grade reliability under heavy workloads
Multi-protocol support (BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP)
Built for Diverse, Mission-Critical Industries
Engineered for demanding environments, the zIOn is suited for building automation, fire safety, smoke control, healthcare, security, industrial automation, oil & gas, and data center infrastructure. To further ensure reliability and seamless integration, ADi is advancing zIOn through BTL certification and UL 864 UUKL listing. Its adaptability and compact footprint make it ideal for systems requiring both high density and high reliability.
Early Integration Available
While UL 864 listing is pending, the zIOn Controller is already available for use in non-UL 864 UUKL applications—allowing integrators and OEMs to begin adopting the platform, streamline future compliance, and stay ahead of project timelines.
